Please join us for the First Annual Western States Regional Championship!
This event is organized by Berkeley Chess, partially funded by the US Chess Trust & fully supported by the USChess Women's Committee.
What is this event? Well, it's brand new! Different regions of the United States are hosting similar events in hopes of bringing more Women & Girls to chess. You will be playing alongside players from other states! The event is TWO tournaments:
2 & 3 day Women's FIDE rated tournament ($2,000 guaranteed prize fund)
AND
3 day K-12 girls event, or 1 day K-6, K-3 girls event.
Moms/Grandmas/Aunts/Cousins- come play alongside the girls in the Women's event! Click here for more information on the Women's event. For women playing in the 2 & 3 day event, we have arranged free childcare onsite Sunday while you play. Please email Sarah for more information.

K-3, and K-6 is 5 rounds, time control-G/45 with a 5 sec delay.
Round times:
10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm and 5:00pm, with awards at 6;45pm.
AWARDS:
Trophies to top 5 players in each Section.
K-12 is 5 rounds G/90 with a 30 second increment. Round times: Friday 7pm, Sat 11am, 4pm, Sun 11am, 4pm awards: 1st: $200 2nd: $100 3rd: $50 winner of the K-12 will be the official NGTOC qualifier from Northern California (unless the winner is not from Northern California than the NGTOC spot will go to the next girl in line) official Calchess tie breakers will be used in case of a tie to determine the NGTOC qualifier
ENTRY FEE: $30 if received by 11:59pm on May 18th, 2018. $10 late fee.
Late entry on Saturday is from 9:00-9:30am only. Checks made payable to Berkeley Chess School.($60 entry on site!)
