Top 4 players from each of the top 10 schools receive a trophy
the School will also receive a Trophy to put on display.
Special Trophy for any player that achieves a perfect score 5/5
Best game trophy (As decided by a Berkeley Chess School Master)
Top 10 Individual Trophies for top scorers that don't receive a Team Trophy!
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Please arrive by 9:45 a.m.)
Entry fee is $25 if preregistered/$35 day of event if received 30 minutes before the event
5 Rounds! (every participant will play 5 games of chess)
Round 1: 10 am
Round 2: 11:15 am
Round 3: 12:30pm
Round 4: 1:45pm
Round 5: 3:00pm
Trophy Ceremony 4:30pm -5:30pm (please take lots of pictures)
62 Trophies will be awarded! 10 trophies will be awarded to the top 10 Schools, another 40 to the top 4 players of each top 10 School! (2 special Trophies)
this is a Team(School) K-5 tournament! make sure you recruit other players from your school so you have a team of at least 4!
Top 4 scorers from a school are counted towards the Team Score. for example if you have 6 players from Live Oak and they score
5/5, 4.5/5, 4/5, 3.5/5, 3/5, and 2/5, Live Oak Team Score would be 17/20. (bottom two scorers are not counted)
Special trophy awarded if you score a perfect 5/5!

INDIVIDUAL TROPHIES FOR THOSE THAT OTHERWISE DON'T HAVE A TEAM!
If for whatever reason you cannot recruit other players from your school we have individual Trophies for the top 10 scoring players that do not receive a Team Trophy!
No player can receive both a Team Trophy or Individual Trophy. if the player wins a Team Trophy they will NOT win a second individual Trophy. (Only 1 Trophy per player)
only players that
1) School did not place in the top 10
or
2) School did place in the top 10, but player was ranked 5th or lower in the school.
is allowed to receive an individual Trophy.
up to two half point byes allowed (meaning you are allowed to miss up to two games, and still get draws for those games) No bye's for round 5!
Team(School) Roster advance entry list will be updated Weekly (Daily the week before the Tournament), and posted on the tournament List Page. (Please register your players early so they can see who is playing from their school, and who is on their team!) Any team(school) Questions please Email [email protected]
