Classes are held at The Berkeley Adult School, 1701 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, 94702. 

*Please note
that the front of the school will be locked. You will have to go around to the back of the school and enter through the parking lot on Curtis Street.

For the beginner class, students must begin on the first day of the session, so they don't miss the introductory lesson


Students must be at least five years old, up to 6th grade.

This class is intended to teach the basics of chess to allow new students to prepare for the Intermediate 1 class.

Participants must currently be in grades kindergarten to 6.
