No class on February 15
Welcome to our new beginner class at Walnut Creek!
For the beginner class, students must begin on the first day of the session. No one can join after August 24 for the fall session.
Students must be at least five years old, up to 6th grade.
This class is intended to teach the basics of chess to allow new students to prepare for the Intermediate 1 class.
Studies
have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science,
and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond
academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem,
respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we
mention: it’s FUN!

Participants must currently be 5 years to 12 years old.
