No class on March 5 & 12
Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess improves test results in reading, science, and math, and encourages growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior, including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. Students at all levels of skill are welcome!
Boards and sets are provided for our classes. Reduced fees are available to low-income families upon request. The first child in a family is full price; additional siblings are half price. The class minimum is 10 and the maximum is 18. Enrollments are accepted in the order received.
Note: The first parent to volunteer to assist the chess class will receive free chess for their child this session. Please contact the Berkeley Chess School to sign up: call 510-843-0150 or email us at [email protected].
*No chess experience required. Volunteer will help with taking attendance at the beginning of class and helping at dismissal time.
